Even though I adore children, I truly understand that bliss. The boy I babysit is 10, and he’s a high functioning autistic child. Though, whenever I have a god awful day, when I am with him for the time given, he always seems to make me feel better.

It’s contradicting. I don’t like children at all, but sometimes children give me this really weird sense of hope and joy. There’s something about their bliss and innocence that brings me back to a time where I was like that too. I still don’t want any of my own. But sometimes all I need to bring me back into tranquility is to see a toddler running and smiling without a care...
